The California Service Corps is comprised of 4 programs: AmeriCorps California, CaliforniansForAll College Corps, California Climate Action Corps, and Youth Service Corps.

Workshop Session Options

Please review the following workshop options before selecting the session you would like to attend. 

Leadership 

  • In this session, participants will reflect on their personal definitions of leadership, explore the role of cultural resilience in leadership, and collaboratively build a framework of mindsets, knowledge, and skills essential for effective leadership.

Idea Launchpad

  • In this interactive session, members will enhance their teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills by developing imaginative solutions in small groups and pitching ideas, with a focus on collaboration, creativity, and constructive feedback.

Transportation Options

Please review the following transportation options before selecting how you plan on getting to the event. 

Chartered bus-pick up 

  • If you'd like to take a charter bus to the event, please sign-up for one of the following pick-up locations:
    1. Norco College (near the bookstore) - Norco 
    2. Central Middle School Parking Lot (near Riverside City College) - Riverside  
    3. Mariposa Elementary School - Front Parking Lot - Ontario 
    4. San Bernardino Valley College Parking Lot 11 (near bookstore) - San Bernardino
    5. Moreno Valley Mall (near Library Mall Branch) - Moreno Valley 
  • Refer to this guide for exact details on pick-up locations, pick-up times, and estimated return times.

Reimbursement for Personal Travel

  • If you'd like to travel to the event on your own (e.g. driving yourself, taking public transit, etc.), complete our reimbursement process to be reimbursed for personal travel expenses you incurred getting to and from the event (e.g. mileage, parking, bus fare, tolls, etc.)

Service Activity Options

During the service portion, we will travel together (bus-transportation provided) to the Sustainable University of Redlands Farm (SURF) to engage in service.

Please review the following service activity options that will be offered. Each activity has a maximum capacity which is indicated in the parentheses.  

  • Building items & facility maintenance (30):  Construct and assemble garden beds and prepare area for raised beds. 
  • Composting & mulching (40): Help spread compost and mulch around the property to create nutrient-rich spaces for the farm.
  • Pruning & upkeep (30): Prune trees around the farm and work to ensure proper growth of plants & trees. 
  • Gardening & planting (30): Dig, plant, and water plants to support local biodiversity and improve the environment.
  • Indoor activities (20): Work with others to put together donation boxes and paint signage.
